This is a Lachenal 46-Key Maccann with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a very basic learner’s Maccann Duet. As you can tell, it is a more basic Lachenal model (with bone buttons and basic fretwork ends). It is, however, the perfect kind of instrument to learn with, and to acclimatise to the Maccann system with. It is a decent player with a rounded tone, and would do the job of helping somebody learn to play the system perfectly, but it would probably need to be upgraded at some point to something with more buttons- however, that is the case with all 46-Key Maccanns, regardless of the quality.
