This is a Lachenal Excelsior 56-Key Extended-Treble with steel reeds. It can be bought in its current condition for £850, or you can register interest in buying it once it is restored for around £1300.

This is actually a really nice concertina to play- very responsive with a lovely balanced tone. It does have some cracking to the fretwork on the left hand side, as well as some patches to the bellows (which are otherwise in pretty good original condition). The reason for us offering this for sale as-is is that, internally, this is a great concertina at a really bargain price- we would just have to get it to a higher standard aesthetically to be able to sell it for a price it deserves, whereas somebody who doesn’t care about a little bit of roughness would be completely happy with it. It is around concert pitch (but would benefit from a touch-tune). We’re just looking to get our money back for this one, as it came in as part of a deal.
