This is a Wheatstone Aeola 64-Key Tenor-Treble with steel reeds (serial number 23669). It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a really wonderful player, and although concertinas are incredibly subjective things, it’s everything that I think a top, top concertina should be. It’s one of the very earliest Tenor-Treble Aeolas made by Wheatstone, and it’s incredibly responsive with a commanding tone- not too bright, just powerful. The 64-Key Tenor-Treble is less desirable than a 56 due to the fact that the extra notes on top aren’t commonly used and do add a tiny bit of extra weight and size, but if you want an instrument that just sings, then this is one for you.
