This is a Wheatstone 48-Key Treble with new wooden ends and steel reeds. It has also been fitted with new pads, valves, straps, and a set of new 6-fold bellows. It has been tuned to concert pitch.

We are big fans of Wheatstone’s mid-range wooden-ended instruments, as we’ve probably said before, and this comes with the benefit of having new ends (due to irreparable damage on the originals). Whilst we’ll always save a concertina’s original parts where possible, the advantage of having to discard the old ones is that you end up with an instrument that looks as fresh and as new as the one you see here. Aesthetics obviously aren’t everything with a concertina (by a long shot), but when combined a set of good Wheatstone steel reeds, you get a very nice instrument all round!
