This is a Wheatstone 48-Key Treble with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads and 6-fold bellows in recent years, and completely new valves. It has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

The Wheatstone English with flat metal ends almost perfectly defines the term ‘mid-range English’. It is a definite upgrade from pretty much any concertina that comes at a lower price point, but is also capable of playing to the very highest level in the right hands. It has a set of 6-fold bellows that were fitted within the last 12 years which means they are in great condition but also played-in (which is ideal), and it is a responsive player with a slightly brighter tone.
