This is a nice Lachenal Tutor Model with Steel Reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This concertina falls into a mid-point amongst tutor model instruments. It has a much stronger set of reeds than the cheaper instruments and plays much faster, but doesn’t have the nicer fretwork and ends that you’d see with an £800+ model. It is, however, a very strong learner’s instrument, and appears to have been nowhere near as messed around-with as a lot of Lachenals are. A very nice thing.
