This is a Lachenal Excelsior 48-Key Treble with brass reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves, straps and bushings, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

As you can see, this is a very pretty early concertina. It has glass buttons and green decorative bellows, and would have been an extremely premium model when it was made. Aside from being a good-looking instrument, it’s also a good player- responsive with a more mellow tone. It’s also in very tidy condition thanks to a refinishing job done at some stage.

A really nice concertina for a very good price.
