This is a Lachenal Edeophone 56-Key Tenor-Treble. It has been fitted with new pads, valves, straps, bellows and button-bushings, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a lovely concertina in very good condition, thanks to a full and quality restoration. We went through a stage last year of having very little interest in metal-ended Tenor-Treble concertinas, but that trend has flipped in recent months with the metal-enders being more popular, so a concertina of this quality shouldn’t be around for too long. It is a quick player with a lovely tone- not too harsh or bright, which people often mistakenly expect from a metal-ended instrument. Edeophones also have the benefit of extremely strong bellows, which tend to last longer and suffer less problems than bellows on any other instrument. These new bellows should certainly outlive all of us!
