This is a Lachenal Edeophone 48-Key Treble with steel reeds, It has been fitted with new pads and vales, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

The Edeophone is a beautiful concertina model, and the top range of English instruments that Lachenal ever made (it was the inspiration for Wheatstone to make the Aeola). It is also in the later-period of Lachenal’s manufacturing (which this concertina is from), that they made their best top-end instruments. This concertina is no exception. It’s a nice, fast player with a balanced tone. We’re slightly baffled because this concertina has been in stock for a long time with other Edeophones/Aeolas being picked ahead of it, but that must just be because other concertinas had a specific element that people were looking for. It’s a really good instrument, and will suit somebody absolutely perfectly.
