This is a Lachenal 48-Key Tutor Model with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves, straps, bellows papers and bushings, had a bellows rebind and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a very good player for a ‘tutor model’ instrument. It is responsive with a nice tone, and very air-efficient which makes the 5-fold bellows feel more than enough. It has good Lachenal steel reeds, and would be much closer to something like a Lachenal Paragon than it would be to a basic Lachenal tutor model with brass reeds. The one downside to this concertina aesthetically is that it has previously been fitted with a homemade microphone system which has left scratches on the fretwork, as you can see on the pictures. Other than that, this is a great example of a top-end Lachenal tutor model which is sure to suit somebody down to the ground.
