This is a Crabb 48-Key Treble with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads and valves, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).
As you can tell, this is an almost modern-looking instrument by concertina standards. It is a later Crabb, from a period which wasn’t particularly Crabb’s finest but, nevertheless, this is a perfectly good concertina that’s in great original condition, that is definitely an upgrade on something like a Lachenal Paragon. It has a decent response, and the tone is well-rounded- perhaps leaning more towards the mellow side of things. The reed frames are aluminium which makes the concertina very light, which will be a big benefit to some people. The original 6-fold bellows are in very good condition.
