This is a Wheatstone 72-Key Maccann Duet with steel reeds. It has been fitted with pads, valves and straps in recent years, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This concertina came back to us in part-exchange recently, and these are the instruments that always tend to be performing the best as they’ve been played thoroughly for a long time meaning that everything is working as efficiently as it can be- valves are more flexible and the reeds just seem to come alive that extra 5 or 10 percent. The concertina is in nice condition apart from the wear around the buttons, but this is standard for well-played instruments. It is responsive with a nice balanced tone- not too bright but with plenty of volume.
