This is a Wheatstone 61-Key Maccann Duet with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz). The serial number is 26669.

This is a very nice Maccann duet, which has the massive benefit of having been played thoroughly over the last few years. There’s just something about concertina reeds which opens up when they’re being played regularly and gets the very best out of them. It is a nice player- responsive with the balanced tone you might expect from a good Wheatstone (leaning slightly towards the brighter end of the tone scale). It also has 8-fold bellows which may not be necessary for some players, but others will absolutely love them and the freedom that they bring. This is a great opportunity to buy a Maccann with a very desirable number of keys that isn’t an Aeola, making it a fair bit cheaper than it would be otherwise.
