This is a Lachenal 48-Key Crane Duet with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps in the last year, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This Crane has just come back to us in an upgrade situation for a better model of Crane Duet, and the benefit of this is always the fact that the concertina is now properly played-in and everything is working completely as it should now that the valves are moving as freely as possible. This is one of the more basic Crane models available, but is much higher quality than the most basic English or Anglo. It is a pretty responsive player with a balanced tone, and is the perfect introduction to the Crane Duet system.
