This is a Lachenal 39-Key Maccann with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

It’s quite frustrating that this is only a 39-Key Maccann, because the quality of the reeds feels almost too high for something with so few buttons. It’s a really good player- responsive with dynamic range and a well-balanced tone. 39-Key Maccanns are fantastic things to learn on, but the most advanced a Maccann player you become, the more buttons you’ll tend to need. Essentially, this is a very high-quality ‘tutor model’ due to the number of buttons, so it’ll be fantastic to learn on but will probably need to be upgraded after a certain amount of time playing.
