This is a rare Lachenal 24-Key Anglo in C/G with a set of steel reeds. It has had the ends refinished, and fitted with new 6-fold bellows, button bushings, pads, straps and valves, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).
This is another rare example of a premium anglo concertina that has less than 30-buttons. We try to keep our budget instruments as affordable as possible which makes this kind of expensive restoration impossible, but we thought we’d experiment with a couple of anglos that had a very good set of reeds. As a result, this concertina is like-new in appearance, and the 6-fold bellows allow much more freedom than the standard 5-fold set you’d usually find on a model like this.
This concertina is also interesting due to the fact is has 24-Keys over two rows. The accidentals (which would be on the third row on a 26-Key) are at the end of each row. These extra notes would make Irish music just about possible to play on this concertina.
We have a large number of anglos in stock which aren’t currently on the website in all sorts of keys/button configurations so don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s something you’re looking for.
