This is a Lachenal 40-Key Anglo in C/G. It has been fitted with new pads and valves, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

Whilst there are a couple of Lachenal Anglo models above this one, they are extremely rare and we don’t see them very often at all, making this the top Lachenal anglo model you’ll find (unless you’re lucky!). It has top set of Lachenal steel reeds, metal ends and metal buttons, and the 40-Keys make it as close to a 38-Key Jeffries as you’ll find in this kind of price range. The 40-keys make it incredibly versatile without being too heavy. This instrument was traded in recently from a musician who was upgrading to a Crabb, so it has been loved and played for a long time which does make a difference when trying out a concertina for the first time.
