This is a Lachenal 32-Key Anglo in G/D with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves, straps and bellows, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a very unique instrument for one reason. Pretty much every Lachenal anglo that you see in G/D was tuned down from Ab/Eb at some point in its life, but this is the first that we have seen of this model that was made in the key of G/D originally. To add to that fact, it’s an absolutely cracking concertina. It plays almost as quickly as a top C/G version of this model (which is no mean feat when you’re dealing with more substantial reed sizes), whilst maintaining that gorgeous, almost harmonium-esque tone that you get from a G/D instrument. The concertina is also in really nice aesthetic condition thanks to a re-finish and new bellows paper.
