This is a Jones 34-Key Anglo in C/G with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a rare example (in our opinion) of a nice Jones concertina. It is a responsive player with a nice balanced tone (leaning towards the brighter side of things). It is in good original condition, and as you can see, it is a more decorative model. It has the fairly unusual benefit of two drone buttons- one in C, and one in G. You’ll notice that the right hand rows are slightly unconventional in position compared to the majority of anglos, with the middle row being further to the left than the other two rows. This is a typical trait of Jones, but don’t let it put you off- it is definitely possible to readjust between this layout and a Lachenal/Wheatstone layout.
