This is a Jeffries 30-Key Anglo in G/D with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, vales and straps, has newish bellows, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a really nice Jeffries G/D Anglo (which in itself is an incredibly desirable thing). It is a nice, responsive player with the more-rounded version of a Jeffries tone that a G/D provides- it is still powerful and has a huge amount of presence, though. The reeds are quite thin, which does mean that this probably isn’t a instrument for somebody who really pushes their concertina hard, as the tuning would fluctuate under heavy pressure. For a more gentle player, this is a perfect instrument- the thinner reeds makes the notes respond quicker than they once would have done, and the tuning won’t vary under gentle pressures. It has had new bellows fitted at some point in recent years, but it already had them on when it came to us.
