This is a Lachenal New Model 56-Key Extended-Treble with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and been tuned concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is a really nice instrument. It does have signs of typical finger wear around the buttons but is otherwise in nice condition. It is a responsive players that is extremely air efficient, which provides a certain punchiness to the playability. The tone is well-rounded and balanced. The New Model was the first major innovation to the concertina’s design since its invention, and is a reliable and well-respected mid-range instrument- a great thing to move onto from your first tutor-model concertina.
