This is a Lachenal 46-Key Maccann with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new bellows, pads and valves, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

The 46-Maccann is generally considered to be the best starting point for somebody wanting to give the Maccann system a go. The 39-Key will also do a job, but when it comes to this system, the more notes the better. This is a higher-quality example of a Lachenal 46, with metal ends and steel reeds. It is a good player with a balanced tone. The one downside to the concertina, and why it is a little cheaper, is that is has been fitted with new bellows at some point in the last few years, but the bellows are a cheaper, lower-quality set than the original would have been. They are fully airtight and completely usable, but the application of the bellows papers is fairly amateurish.
