This is a Wheatstone 26-Key Anglo in C/G with steel reeds (serial number 33862). It has been fitted with pads and valves in recent years, has had new 6-fold bellows, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

On paper, you’d perhaps wonder why a 26-Key anglo from Wheatstone’s slightly later period would be priced as this one is- the simple answer is that it’s a fantastic player. The action feels incredible, and it’s a very responsive box (which will only become more responsive as a few new valves become more supple). It has a great tone too- well rounded, but with some bite and volume. A perfect hybrid tone between a stereotypical wooden-ender and a stereotypical metal-ender. 26-Keys quite often don’t have enough buttons for top players, but if you’re happy with 26, then you won’t find many better.

It is a Wheatstone/Lachenal layout, with a double C sharp on the right hand.
