This is a Lachenal 20-Key in C/G with brass reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is about as basic as anglo concertinas come. It’s a mahogany-ended, brass-reeded instrument, meaning that it was the cheapest model made by Lachenal and doesn’t equate to a responsive, fast-playing concertina. Because of this fact, however, it’s the cheapest step on the genuine concertina ladder, and this one does play fairly nicely. It’s got a mellow tone and, as mentioned, isn’t particularly fast, but it is in pretty nice original condition overall.
