This is a 38-Key Anglo in C/G by an unknown maker with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

People tend to label any metal-ended anglo with no maker’s mark as a ‘Shakespeare’, but recent research we’ve been carrying out has proved this not to be the case. There is no indication as to who made this concertina, but it is a perfectly good instrument that falls into a price-range there is a lot of demand for without the supply to match it thanks to the fact that it is unmarked. It is pretty responsive with a slightly brighter tone. It was either built with 7-fold bellows or they have been fitted later on in its life. It’s in very tidy aesthetic condition too.
