This is a Wheatstone 48-Key Crane Duet with steel reeds. It has been restored recently by a well-known repairer, and has just come into stock in part-exchange. It is tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz). The serial number is 36159.

Crane Duets have been like gold-dust to find for us over the past year or so, so it’s always nice to get something like this into stock. It is from Wheatstone’s late period which means the concertina will never be at the top of the tree, but it’s a very decent player- responsive with a well-rounded tone. It’s in decent aesthetic condition too, with only one of the ends showing a little bit of finger wear around the buttons which is pretty standard with a wooden-ended instrument.
