This is a really lovely Wheatstone 56-Key Extended-Treble Aeola with great period Wheatstone reeds, and it has new pads, valves, bushings and bellows, and has been tuned to concert pitch. The instrument was restored by David Robertson, who did a lovely job on it.
This concertina is a lovely player with great tone, and the restoration job on the instrument means that it also looks the part completely. People can often be put off by the term ‘Extended-Treble’, thinking that it must make the instrument bigger or different in some way. Extended-Trebles are exactly the same size as your regular Treble concertinas, and all of the regular 48-key buttons fall in exactly same place too. If you’re a Treble player and looking for a top Wheatstone then this would do the job for you perfectly, regardless of the extra buttons.
The serial number is 26003, which dates to 1914.
