This is a Roylance 48-Key Baritone with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, bellows, valves, bushings and straps, and been tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

As you can probably already tell, this is a quite unusual instrument- the shape is not common, especially for a standard-range Baritone. As far as we know, Roylance was a dealer, not a maker of concertinas, but there are no signs on this instrument to identify who the manufacturer was. The concertina has had a full restoration so it looks lovely and is in almost-perfect condition, and it is a good player. It is a rapidly-responsive instrument, but it has a wonderful, almost harmonium-like tone that is pretty unique to this concertina.
