A very tidy little 48 key treble by Lachenal No 30993 c 1890.
It has mahogany ends, bone buttons, brass reeds and four fold bellows.
It has been restored with new pads, valves, straps and tuned to concert pitch.
These tutor models are never great concertinas but they are the obvious one to start with as they don’t cost much more than the cheap Chinese fakes but they are genuine, sound right, look right-and most important-they can be traded back into us at the price you paid for it when you wish to upgrade-as most people do. If it has been looked after-of course! Try and get that deal anywhere else!
This is a very tidy example. I have seen people pay £200-300 on Ebay for an unrestored one and then have to pay £500 to get it restored-if indeed it can be done-as some of the ones you see on Ebay are only fit for scrapping.
