This is a Lachenal 48-Key Treble Top-End Tutor Model with steel reeds. It has been refinished, re-bushed, fitted with new pads, valves and straps, given new 6-fold bellows, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is the very top-end of the ‘tutor model’ market when it comes to English concertinas. For all intents and purposes, this concertina is a Lachenal Paragon with bone buttons. You get the huge benefit of the new 6-fold bellows which make the concertina less restricted, the button bushings which make the instrument much quieter to play than a regular tutor model, and the refinished ends make the whole thing look very tidy. It’s a nice playing instrument, and is unquestionably a level above most Lachenal tutor models.
