This is a Lachenal 35-Key Tenor with steel reeds. It has been restored by Theo Gibb in recent years, and has been tuned to concert pitch (A-440hz).

This is what we could call a ‘Band Tenor’. Made for somebody in a concertina band or the Salvation Army- an instrument that is bigger and produces more volume, but misses some of the top notes of a standard Treble so that it’s lighter and easier to carry around. This is a really lovely player- a nice action with a really good and responsive set of reeds. It has plenty of volume and dynamic range, and would be perfect for somebody wanting to accompany singing.
