This is a Wheatstone 57-Key Rebuilt Aeola Maccann with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new ends, bushings, bellows, pad, valves and straps, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz). The serial number is 24028.

This is a concertina that originally came to us in terrible condition. The raised Aeola ends were destroyed, but we knew that we had a good set of reeds to rebuild the instrument around. Unfortunately, making raised ends for a concertina is an incredibly difficult thing to do, so whilst this instrument remains an Aeola internally, it has lost its characteristic raised ends for standard flat ends. This is reflected in the price- an Aeola at a flat-ended price. It’s obviously in fantastic condition aesthetically, and it is a good player- responsive with a nice, balanced tone.
