This is a Lachenal 46-Key Maccann with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

The Lachenal 46-Key Maccann is the most practical entry point to the Maccann Duet system, and whilst it doesn’t have the range most people will require once they get to a certain level of playing (a 57-Key is usually seen as the ideal size), it will help you learn the system and get used to how everything works. This is a nice example of a Lachenal 46-Key. It’s a higher grade than the bone button models that you’ll see more frequently, and it has a decent player with a nice rounded tone. The ends show some fairly standards signs of wear and usage, but for a lower model concertina this is to be expected.
