A Lachenal mahogany-ended 30 key number 198577 which would be 1920’s.
It has erinoid buttons, steel reeds and 5 fold bellows.
I would usually say that late number, cheaper Lachenal anglos can be quite slow and disappointing-but for the second time in the last two days I am listing one that has pleasantly surprised me.
This is a fine little player and in pretty decent condition for an instrument at this level.
If you are looking for a basic but decent quality 30 key you have to consider this one.
I really am sorry that even the cheapest 30 keys are expensive when you compare them to the price of an English concertina. I have just listed a Lachenal Paragon English at the same price as this anglo-and the English is a way better built instrument that would have cost way more than the anglo when they were made.
I don’t cause these prices-they are down to the Worldwide interest in Irish playing-and that demand means that wherever we source these concertinas from-we have to pay top prices. No decent 30 key will go cheaply in auction or on EBay-and if it does it is probably because there is something major wrong with it that people who understand them have noticed..
