This is a Lachenal 20-Key in C/G with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This is an extremely tidy concertina in fantastic condition aesthetically, but it is let down slightly by its reeds. It comes from the very last days of Lachenal’s production of concertinas, and the reeds were extremely hit or miss at this point. Whilst this will never be the best playing concertina (and the price does reflect that), it is an incredibly beautiful 20-Key which is fairly rare, and fits perfectly between a cheap Lachenal mahogany 20-key and a top rosewood 20-key in both price and quality.
