This is a Lachenal 20-Key in C/G with steel reeds (serial number 65075). It has been fitted with new pads, valves and straps, and has been tuned to concert pitch.

The label on this concertina is interesting, as it says ‘Prof. Malburn, Macclesfield’. From Papers of the International Concertina Assocation– ‘Frederick William Malburn (1846-1911—Macclesfield, Cheshire) was brazenly billed as “Professor Fred. Malburn, The Greatest Concertinist in the World.” He was a music teacher, writer, and performer on concertina and musical instruments of his own invention’.

Either way, this is a good 20-Key with a nice set of reeds. It’s an earlier example, so it has the bigger bone buttons that you’d expect from a concertina of this period.
