This is a Jeffries 38-Key C/G with steel reeds. It has been fitted with new bellows, pads, springs, valves and straps, and has been tuned to concert pitch.

This is a top Jeffries anglo. It is an original C/G Jeffries that hasn’t been messed with in its life internally. Its original layout wasn’t what people consider ‘standard’, so three reeds have been replaced to give it a standard layout (replaced with Jeffries reeds). It has a light action due to the whole action being re-sprung, and tonally it feels a lot more balanced than you might usually expect from a Jeffries. Of course, it is a bright concertina with that signature Jeffries tone, but it is perhaps a little calmer than some Jeffries can be, which is very pleasant.

The Jeffries 38-Key is the King of the Anglo concertina, and this is a wonderful example.
