This is a Jeffries 30-Key Anglo in C/G with a Lachenal/Wheatstone layout. It has been fitted with new pads, valves, straps and bellows, and tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

As we can say fairly easily about all Jeffries concertinas, this is a lovely instrument. It has that signature Jeffries tone, and is extremely responsive. It’s in fantastic aesthetic condition too after a full restoration. Unlike the majority of Jeffries concertinas, it has the layout of a Lachenal/Wheatstone 30-Key, meaning that the accidentals are the same as they would be on a Lachenal/Wheatstone anglo, not the different notes you’d find on the accidental row of a Jeffries normally. Whilst most people who work their way up to a Jeffries will essentially re-learn how to play with the different accidentals, this concertina is a fantastic opportunity to scrap that need for re-learning and to own a top concertina with no changes to the buttons.

This concertinas has all original Jeffries reeds apart from a couple of replacements on the top notes of the right hand.
