This is an A.P James 30-Key Anglo in C/G with steel (accordion) reeds. It is in the same condition as when it was made. It is tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz).

This concertina recently came to us in part-exchange, and it is everything you might expect of a hybrid concertina in this kind of price range. It plays incredibly quickly, and is extremely loud and bright. If you’re looking for something to cut through in sessions or for outdoor playing of any kind then this would be extremely suitable. As with all hybrid concertinas, it’s never going to sound fully like a genuine concertina due to the accordion reeds, but on the scale of hybrids then this instrument is a decent attempt at recreating some of the elements of a concertina sound.

As retail price for a new one of these is £1200, this is a bargain.
